exTra Network Concludes a Successful Third Annual Meeting and Training School in Vienna
The exTra – Doctoral Network has completed an intensive and inspiring week of scientific exchange, skills development, and strategic collaboration during its Third Annual Meeting and Training School, held in Vienna from 23–26 February 2026. Hosted at the University Hospital Vienna (AKH), the gathering brought together doctoral candidates, supervisors, consortium partners, and invited experts from across Europe.
Training School 3:
The Training School, held on 23 and 26 February, offered a two-part programme designed to support DoCs researchers in both scientific and professional development.
- Part 1 focused on practical competencies essential for impactful research communication, including presentation techniques, narrative structuring, body language, and interactive pitching sessions.
- Part 2 explored entrepreneurship and innovation, with sessions on intellectual property, value‑proposition design, and pathways for translating scientific findings into market‑relevant solutions.
Training School 3
Third Annual Consortium Meeting:
On 24 and 25 February, the consortium convened for its Annual Meeting, featuring:
- Scientific sessions on extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) in transplantation and emerging trial designs
- Presentations from exTra DoCs across the network’s research projects
- Contributions from external experts on immune strategies in transplant medicine
- A panel discussion comparing academic and industry career trajectories
- Group discussions on biomarkers and future applications of ECP
The meeting highlighted the progress achieved across the network and fostered constructive dialogue on future research directions.
The event showcased the commitment and enthusiasm of the exTra community—doctoral researchers, supervisors, trainers, and invited speakers—working together to advance translational immunology and innovative therapeutic approaches.
